A big cause of being overweight is binge eating or mindless eating. It’s necessary to eat when we are hungry but it’s not necessary to eat because it’s a habit. So many of us eat little crunchy foods while watching tv, or on the computer without realizing how many calories we are consuming.
So I suggest eating before doing any of these activities. When you do get on the computer or turn on the tv, bring a big glass of water with you. Make it a task. Decide to drink 20-30 oz over the course of time. Water makes you feel full and can reduce your hunger.
Another suggestion would be not to buy those little tempting foods. Do you really need them? Eat food, meals, get rid of the ‘snacks’. Your snacks shouldn’t be cookies, chips, or popcorn anyway. They should be sliced fruit, nuts, celery with peanut butter, a smoothie. Ditch the little kid food and watch your pounds melt away.
